POTRL is one of the Ritz Theatre’s cornerstone shows. It is in its 22^nd year. Initially patterned after the world-famous Apollo Amateur Night, which was produced at one time by Puttin on the Ritz executive producer, Deborah McDuffie, POTRL has evolved to be one of the most popular talent competitions in Jacksonville.

The upcoming season will be hosted by some of Jacksonville’s hottest local performers. Each show host will open the show with a song, and then present the contestants for the evening. The show will include performers from the previous months NEXT UP!, as well as “wild card” performers who send in online auditions to appear on the show.

There are cash prizes ($100, $50, $25) for the top 3 performers, selected by audience applause. All 3 winners return for the December finals competition, with the grand prize winner winning the production of a single. This amateur talent competition is open to children ages 5-17, and adults 18+.
