Lonnie Liston Smith, Brian Jackson and Mark Adams present A Soulful Night Of Keys for the Ritz's every popular First Saturday Jazz Jamm on Saturday, February 4. There will be two shows at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Tickets are $21.00 in advance, and $25 at the door.
Lonnie Liston Smith is a legendary keyboardist, a true American icon of jazz, soul and funk, and he has played and recorded with everybody from Miles Davis and Art Blakey to Marvin Gaye and Marcus Miller. Many of his recordings are classics in R&B, quiet storm and smooth jazz.
Keyboardist/flutist Brian Jackson is an award-winning composer and producer. He is best known for his collaborations with Gil Scott-Heron in the 1970s, with his Rhodes electric piano and flute accompaniments are featured prominently in many of their compositions.
Worldly soul pianist Mark Adams is proving to be the premiere jazz pianist of his generation. His extensive career has allowed him to work with such jazz greats as Roy Ayers, Ron Carter, Ronnie Laws, Hugh Masekela and Bobbie Humphrey, just to name a few.
